About The Position

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Unit Maintenance Instructor for a short-term assignment at the Army National Guard Professional Education Center in North Little Rock, AR. The role involves instructing the ARNG FMS TAMMS and Readiness Course, a two-week resident program for officers, warrant officers, noncommissioned officers, and civilian personnel. This course focuses on the functional training required for Field Maintenance Shops (FMS), Combined Support Maintenance Shops (CSMS), Unit Training Equipment Sites (UTES), and Mobilization and Training Equipment Sites (MATES). The training equips personnel with the skills to manage surface maintenance shop operations, sustain equipment readiness, and ensure deployability within the Army National Guard, with a strong emphasis on safe and efficient operations and the utilization of the Global Combat Support System–Army (GCSS-A). The instruction encourages professional development through the sharing of best practices derived from instructors' and peers' experiences.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Instructor certification.
  • Five years of experience as a Unit Maintenance NCO.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and writing).
  • US Citizenship.
  • Must verify minimum requirements before applying.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years of GCSS-Army experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the ARNG Surface Maintenance arena.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional training for the ARNG FMS TAMMS and Readiness Course.
  • Instruct on the skills required to sustain equipment readiness and deployability of the Army National Guard through day-to-day management of surface maintenance shop operations.
  • Train students on safely and efficiently managing shop operations.
  • Train students on utilizing the Global Combat Support System–Army (GCSS-A).
  • Facilitate professional development by drawing on instructor and peer experiences to shape and share best practices.
  • Instruct on the Command Maintenance Discipline Program.
  • Instruct on utilizing authorization documents to support property requisitions, disposal, and accountability using GCSS-Army.
  • Instruct on establishing and maintaining proper accountability of assigned and organizational property.
  • Instruct on submitting and managing requisitions to ensure the organization is properly and fully equipped.
