UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring a Regular Full-Time Unit Director (RN) to lead the 2nd Floor Outpatient Medical Oncology team at the Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside/Pittsburgh, PA. This position offers a $6,000 sign-on bonus and will work a regular Monday through Friday daylight schedule and will be responsible for complete oversight of a large medical oncology group including both clinic and treatment room care of patients. The Unit Director (RN) will partner with different services/entities (research team, APP leader, physician leadership, practice manager, senior leadership) to help improve the patient experience, work on quality improvement initiatives, and staff engagement initiatives. The 2nd floor of the Hillman Cancer Center is comprised of multiple physicians all disease focused and is in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood. The Hillman Cancer Center: 2nd-floor offers: The latest advancements and treatments in solid tumor therapy, New patient consults, Groundbreaking clinical trials, Surgical consults. The Unit Director maintains the operational health of the clinical area, effectively managing financial, human resources, administrative, and clinical concerns as required to ensure the success of the unit. Unit Directors seek to create a workplace environment conducive to open dialogue and exceptional nursing practice and proactively raise standards in patient care and safety through unit-based quality improvement initiatives. An experienced clinician with strong problem-solving skills, the Unit Director uses research and evidence-based practice to identify clinical problems and improve patient outcomes.
