About The Position

Under general supervision, this role follows established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines to perform customer service, receptionist, and clerical/secretarial activities. The Unit Customer Service Representative serves as a communication resource for patients, visitors, family, and health care team members, with the ability to triage communication priorities. Responsibilities include answering the telephone and patient intercom system, alerting nursing staff to patient and family concerns and other calls, ordering supplies and stock items as required, and keeping the unit neat and organized. This position is also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of customer service excellence.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required.
