About The Position

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for their Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a full-time day shift position. The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit (3 South) provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post‑coronary interventions, post‑ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre‑ and post‑catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke. The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, they lead safety and quality initiatives, focus on and simplify workflow, and contribute to the development of staff. The role aims to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • 18 Months of acute care RN experience (required)
  • ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • NIH within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • MSN (Preferred)
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Critical Care/IMCU
  • Experience in Telemetry, acute stroke, or cardiac preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Acute Care nursing background preferred
