Unit Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery
About The Position
Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is hiring an Unit Coordinator RN for the Labor & Delivery Unit. This is a full-time, Day Shift position and requires call. The role demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, the Unit Coordinator leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Requirements
- 18 months nursing experience required.
- BSN Degree REQUIRED
- Virginia RN License REQUIRED
- BLS required within 90 days of hire.
- Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
- Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
- Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
- Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
- Labor & Delivery Experience STRONGLY PREFERRED
