Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Strong office skills as well as interpersonal skills will be considered.

Nice To Haves

1+ years’ experience as a Unit Clerk in an acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the assigned nursing unit runs efficiently.
Providing secretarial support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit.
Demonstrating positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, other hospital departments, and unit staff.
Coordinating with Care Management concerning admissions, transfers, and discharges, and notifying hospitalist if needed.
Maintaining and updating patients' records for a given unit.
Performing a variety of general clerical and non-clinical patient duties, facilitating communication.
Expediting interdepartmental services and compiling and keeping records required on the nursing unit.
Assisting the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit.
Assisting with patient care/quality assurance audits.
