About The Position

The Unit Clerk provides assistance for clinical and nursing staff in the outpatient department. The Unit Clerks are responsible for adhering to the Employee Manual, Operations Manual and organizational policies and procedures in completing job responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) from an accredited high school.
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • Strong customer service focus, excellent time management, organizational, oral and written communication skill.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and email applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Certified Nursing Aide or Certified Medication Aide preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral problems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary front-desk contact and welcoming first point of interaction for clients, families, visitors, and vendors.
  • Complete daily client check-in and check-out procedures accurately, promptly, and confidentially.
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Coordinate client paperwork, forms, releases, and other administrative documentation as needed while ensuring completeness and timely processing.
  • Helps coordinate discharges with the clinical staff and case manager (print off discharge paperwork, enter discharge survey results, etc.).
  • Collaborate with clinical and program staff to support smooth daily program operations and timely communication.
  • Assist with client and family communications, including appointment reminders, program updates, and follow-up outreach as directed.
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area, ensuring it is welcoming, orderly, and stocked with appropriate materials.
  • Attends staff meeting as directed.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail, deliveries, and faxes; maintain office and program supply inventories and submit orders as needed.
  • Uphold professional boundaries, client confidentiality, and a respectful, trauma-informed service environment at all times.
  • Attends and completes all required in-service training and course work on an annual basis per agency requirements.
