The Nursing Unit Clerk is responsible for coordinating the daily staffing of the Nursing Department and assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have exceptional English communication skills, both orally and in writing.
May be required to obtain and maintain current CPR.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary education an asset.

Responsibilities

Assists in the coordination of staffing and scheduling needs for the Nursing Department including replacement of staff on a daily "call in" basis and updating staffing changes on the Master Schedule and daily compliments.
Obtains approval for overtime work from the Director of Care.
Maintains attendance/absenteeism reports and communicates any recurrent absenteeism to the Director of Care.
