About The Position

Arms Acres is looking for a new team member to join our 75 Seminary hill rd, Carmel, NY location as a Unit Clerk. Two positions are available, each with a 7a-730p shift schedule that alternates weekly. In this role, you will act as a liaison between medical, clinical, other internal departments, and outside providers. Responsibilities include phone triage, scheduling appointments, completing required paperwork, and notifying appropriate staff of arrangements. You will also provide clerical assistance to Primary Care staff, maintain an adequate supply of forms, and be sensitive to patient requests, needs, and rights. Additional duties include escorting patients, reconciling bed book, census, bed board, and daily charge book, maintaining patient confidentiality, coordinating emergency services for patient transfers, and participating in fire and disaster drills and Performance Improvement Initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Customer Service is key to the success of the person in this role.
  • Background checks, pre-employment & drug screenings required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior secretarial/medical ward clerk experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to dining room/store, etc. as assigned.
  • Reconciles bed book, census, bed board, and daily charge book each shift, including bed assignments.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Coordinates Emergency Services as needed for patient transfers to a higher level of care.
  • Participates in fire and disaster drills according to appropriate facility procedures ensuring patient safety.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement Initiatives.
