About The Position

The Labor and Delivery department is a 24-hour inpatient unit with 12 Labor-Delivery-Recovery suites, 4 Perinatal suites, 6 Antepartum suites, 3 Operating suites, a 4-bed recovery room, and a 7-station triage area. This department provides comprehensive perinatal care, including inpatient and outpatient services for low and high-risk pregnancies, prenatal testing and treatment, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, transitional and normal newborn care, and pregnancy loss services.

Under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Unit Clerk provides essential support for patients, visitors, and colleagues on assigned nursing units. This role facilitates efficient patient throughput by managing admissions, discharges, and transfers. The Unit Clerk also supports patient experience and culture of safety goals through equipment maintenance, unit supply management, and maintaining the unit's appearance and overall environment of care. Additionally, the position provides reception-style services to patients, families, visitors, and other unit guests.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three to six months previous related experience
