Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
Prior patient care, clerical, or customer service experience.
BLS certification (training provided if needed).

Responsibilities

Support activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring, and recording intake/output, recording patient weight, and obtaining vital signs. Report abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition to the RN.
Order supplies, answer telephones, deliver messages, make charts, coordinate and organize transfer paperwork, and manage call bell responses.
Make appointments, call providers, assist with prior authorizations, and coordinate bed assignments with Charge Nurses.
Reinforce education with patients (e.g., incentive spirometer use, fall prevention), maintain clean and organized bedside areas, and round intentionally on each patient every hour.
Liaise with maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, security, and other departments as necessary.
