Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Nice To Haves
- NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
- Prior patient care, clerical, or customer service experience.
- BLS certification (training provided if needed).
Responsibilities
- Support activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring, and recording intake/output, recording patient weight, and obtaining vital signs.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition to the RN.
- Order supplies, answer telephones, deliver messages, make charts, coordinate and organize transfer paperwork, and manage call bell responses.
- Make appointments, call providers, assist with prior authorizations, and coordinate bed assignments with Charge Nurses.
- Reinforce education with patients (e.g., incentive spirometer use, fall prevention), maintain clean and organized bedside areas, and round intentionally on each patient every hour.
- Liaise with maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, security, and other departments as necessary.
