Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
  • Prior patient care, clerical, or customer service experience.
  • BLS certification (training provided if needed).

Responsibilities

  • Support activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring, and recording intake/output, recording patient weight, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition to the RN.
  • Order supplies, answer telephones, deliver messages, make charts, coordinate and organize transfer paperwork, and manage call bell responses.
  • Make appointments, call providers, assist with prior authorizations, and coordinate bed assignments with Charge Nurses.
  • Reinforce education with patients (e.g., incentive spirometer use, fall prevention), maintain clean and organized bedside areas, and round intentionally on each patient every hour.
  • Liaise with maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, security, and other departments as necessary.
