Billings Clinic is seeking a Unit Clerk for their Intermediate Care Unit. This role involves providing care and close supervision of patients, documenting patient behaviors, providing crisis intervention, and implementing individualized treatment plans in accordance with Billings Clinic policies and procedures. The Unit Clerk will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. The position is per diem, meaning work is as needed, with employment status indicating non-exempt. The role supports and models Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, and values, and maintains competency in organizational and departmental standards. Key responsibilities include performing clerical duties to maintain unit flow, such as paperwork coordination and supply ordering, utilizing electronic applications for admissions, discharges, and order entry, and effectively using phone systems. The Unit Clerk will interact courteously with patients, families, and the care team, utilize performance improvement principles, and adhere to safety standards. Additional duties include assisting with limited patient care, observing patient monitors and reporting changes, maintaining patient reports, and performing basic nursing care within the scope of practice as directed by a licensed nurse. Accurate and timely entry into the patient medical record is also a crucial aspect of the role.
