About The Position

The Unit Clerk Endoscopy is accountable for accurate procedure scheduling, collection of pertinent patient demographic information, printing and distribution of the schedule, and securing appointments with supporting service departments. This role requires very good communication skills with physicians and their office staff. Requirements

  • Accurate and timely procedure scheduling.
  • Collection of pertinent patient demographic information.
  • Printing and distribution of the schedule.
  • Securing appointments with supporting service departments.
  • Very good communication skills with physicians and their office staff.
  • Follow all relevant specialty, federal requirements, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for FTE hours.
  • Maintain financial responsibility in helping to stay within the unit's budget.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule procedures in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Review schedules daily and coordinate with the perioperative business office and endoscopy shift coordinator any changes that need made.
  • Communicate with the shift coordinator when special circumstances arise.
  • Provide clerical support when needed.
  • Communicate positively as a representative of our units when talking with physician offices.
  • Follow all relevant specialty, federal requirements, and hospital policies and procedures, when caring for the patient and performing other tasks.
  • Participate in unit and hospital wide Performance Improvement activities.
  • Always be an advocate for your patients, families and coworkers.
  • Maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Be a representative of Good Samaritan within the community.
  • Be responsible for your FTE hours.
  • Maintain financial responsibility in helping to stay within the unit's budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.
