About The Position

This role involves processing orders and patient charges accurately and efficiently, managing communication via telephone and call lights, directing visitors, and maintaining medical records. The position also includes managing unit supplies, providing direct patient care as a CNA, documenting care, maintaining a clean work environment, and potentially floating to other units. Additionally, the role participates in performance improvement activities, verifies charge accuracy, and assembles patient charts and equipment. Key responsibilities include processing orders and patient charges, handling telephone and call light communications, directing visitors, maintaining medical records, managing supplies (scanning, stocking, ordering, disposing of expired items), providing patient care according to CNA duties and standards, documenting care, maintaining a clean work and patient environment, floating to various units as needed, participating in performance improvement activities, verifying charge accuracy, facilitating a welcoming environment, and assembling patient folders and charts. The role also involves setting up Rauland responder/Vocera/versus for new staff.

Requirements

  • Completion of a CNA program.
  • Completion of a Unit Clerk course or equivalent on the job training (which can be provided).
  • Nursing Assistant Certification in applicable state.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Processes orders and patient charges in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Answers the telephone and call lights in an appropriate and timely manner, providing information or relaying messages to patients and staff.
