This role is responsible for processing orders and patient charges accurately and efficiently, answering telephones and call lights promptly, and providing information or relaying messages to patients and staff. The Unit Clerk also directs visitors, maintains medical records, manages unit supplies (scanning, stocking, ordering, and disposing of expired items), and provides direct patient care as assigned according to CNA job duties and expectations. They are responsible for documenting care provided, maintaining a clean work and patient environment, and floating to various units as needed. Additionally, this role participates in performance improvement activities, verifies charge accuracy, and facilitates a welcoming environment by assisting with visitor wayfinding. Responsibilities also include assembling patient folders and charts and setting up the Rauland responder/Vocera/versus system for new staff.
