Unit Associate I - SICU
About The Position
The Unit Associate is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that help to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services to our patients. This is a fast-paced position where the associate will be required to work in collaboration with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. Daily tasks include stocking items to Pyxis and supply carts, monitoring expiration dates on items, ensuring that patient rooms are properly stocked with supplies and linens, restocking supply rooms, maintaining a clean work environment and other duties as assigned. The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU - Zayed 9 East) at Johns Hopkins is an 18-bed unit with a diverse patient population receiving various types of surgeries in this ICU, including, Abdominal Transplant, Cardiac Surgery patients, GI Surgery, Trauma, Vascular Surgery, Ortho/Neuro Spine procedures and General Surgery. The SICU team is composed of a unit based multi-disciplinary team. Registered Nurses (RNs) in the SICU take great pride in providing high quality post-operative surgical care every day! Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/ urgent situations and to follow established procedures
- Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
- General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplied and procedures (highly preferred)
