ArborWorks is seeking Trimmer (Climber) candidates at all experience levels. As a Trimmer, you will be responsible for tree maintenance, line clearance, and vegetation management in various environments. Depending on your experience and qualifications, you may enter at one of the following levels: Trimmer 1 (Entry-Level / Trainee Start): Ideal for those with foundational tree climbing experience who are eager to develop their skills in a structured training program. Trimmer 2 (6-12 Months Experience): Suited for candidates with at least six months of climbing and line clearance experience. Trimmer 3 (12+ Months Experience): For experienced climbers with advanced line clearance skills and certifications.

Requirements

  • Trimmer 1: Foundational tree climbing knowledge and completion of Groundperson training.
  • Trimmer 2: Minimum 6 months of climbing experience, completion of LCQP training.
  • Trimmer 3: Minimum 12 months of line clearance experience, Line Clearance Qualified Arborist certification preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including to remote locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist climbers and bucket operators from the ground.
  • Operate chainsaws, chippers, and other tree maintenance equipment.
  • Learn climbing techniques, rope rigging, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-climb tree inspections under supervision.
  • Work toward completion of the Line Clearance Qualification Program (LCQP).
  • Perform general climbing duties with guidance.
  • Set up rigging and tie knots and hitches for climbing and rigging tasks.
  • Provide traffic control and spotting assistance.
  • Conduct customer communication and post-work inspections.
  • Independently perform advanced tree climbing and rigging.
  • Set up job sites and provide traffic control as needed.
  • Inspect and maintain ropes, saddles, and life-support equipment.
  • Train and mentor junior trimmers and trainees.
  • Successfully pass a skills assessment for advancement.
