Requirements

  • At least 12 months of line clearance experience.
  • Line Clearance Qualified Arborist.
  • Must pass a skills assessment to advance to this level.
  • Completed and signed Groundperson Training
  • Completed entire Groundperson section in LCQP book
  • Completed and signed Climber Training
  • Completed entire Climber section in LCQP book
  • Completed and signed Bucket Operator Training
  • Completed entire Bucket operator section in the LCQP book
  • Completed and signed annual Aerial Rescue Training
  • Completed LCCP test
  • CPR and first aid certification (within 90 days of hire date)
  • Completed and signed Tree Feller Training
  • Completed a documented skills assessment
  • Knowledge of utility test

Nice To Haves

  • Driver’s license preferred
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
  • Qualified Applicator License (QAL) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks for a full workday.
  • Perform all aspects of the Groundperson and Trimmer Trainee classifications.
  • Run a chainsaw for bucking and limbing.
  • Operate a chipper.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Set up job sites.
  • Clean up debris.
  • Assist the climber or bucket operator from the ground.
  • Conduct temporary traffic control.
  • Act as a spotter.
  • Communicate with customers.
  • Complete post work inspections.
  • Partake in ongoing training.
  • Inspect rope, climbing saddle, flip line and all life support hardware before ascending the tree.
  • Be proficient in tying an approved friction hitch for ascent and decent.
  • Explain and complete a pre-climb inspection of the tree.
  • Ascend the tree using an approved method.
  • Perform roping and rigging in the tree.
  • Be proficient in the knots and hitches associated with such tasks.
  • Perform a proper notch and back cut.
  • Perform all climb duties without direct supervision.
