About The Position

The Lead Cleaner oversees the daily cleaning tasks of the cleaning/janitorial team while keeping assigned areas, such as offices, commercial spaces, industrial spaces, or institutional buildings, in a clean and orderly condition. The role requires successful collaboration with fellow employees, clients, and all levels of the organization. The individual is expected to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written, and explain how to complete a task using basic communication skills.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial janitorial experience
  • Understand that safety is a top priority and comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Must be a team player and committed to working in a fast-paced, quality environment
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Valid Driver's License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures

  • Solve minor cleaning issues
  • Direct special cleaning projects
  • Train new employees on cleaning procedures and chemicals
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Communicate with the team, co-workers, managers, and customers professionally
  • Fill in during staff shortage
  • Support Cleaning Manager in completing punch-list items
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understand reporting systems and the environment
  • Stocking and inventorying supply closets
  • Vacuuming
  • Edging
  • Dusting
  • Cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms
  • Window cleaning
  • Emptying trash and transporting to proper disposal area
  • Sweeping and mopping floors
  • Assist Cleaning Manager with day-to-day operations
  • May perform other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in HSEQ training
  • Report any potential hazards or compliance concerns
