About The Position

Sanipac, a Waste Connections company in Eugene, OR has an immediate position open for a Union Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks. This is a full-time schedule with a 4/10s schedule (M-F, 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM) with occasional overtime required and available. The company offers competitive compensation starting at $29.55+/per hour DOE, with an additional $2.00/hr for CDL holders or after obtaining a CDL. Paid CDL training is provided.

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required)
3+ year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair
Provide personal tools.
Class B CDL OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks.
Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Perform diagnostics and repairs on engine, aftertreatment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V and CAN).
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
