About The Position

The Union Dishwasher / Utility team member is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas in accordance with union standards, safety regulations, and company policies. This role supports kitchen operations to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and food safety practices
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (e.g., trays, equipment)
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
• Team player with good communication skills
• Reliability and punctuality
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
• Must comply with collective bargaining agreements and union policies
• Adherence to scheduled breaks, overtime rules, and workplace rights

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required)
• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashing machines or by hand
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and work surfaces
• Operate and properly maintain dishwashing equipment
• Dispose of garbage and recycling in accordance with health and safety guidelines
• Restock clean dishes and kitchen supplies to appropriate areas
• Assist kitchen staff with basic prep work as needed
• Ensure compliance with union regulations, hygiene standards, and workplace safety rules
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and union work rules
