About The Position

Achievement Behavior Services (ABS) is an agency founded in 2015 by BCBAs and LCSWs, specializing in providing in-home/in-community ABA therapeutic services to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. Our mission is to use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to support children in enhancing their communication, adaptability, resilience, and independence.

Requirements

  • Areas of Study: Applied Behavior Analysis, psychology, Special education, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificate from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Strong and multi-tiered stakeholder communication skills
  • Adaptability and decisiveness under high-stress situations
  • Professional administrative reliability: punctuality and responsiveness
  • Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
  • Proven experience with documenting progress notes and data points aligning with individualized treatment plans and goals
  • Structured and creative play skills
  • Other experience, certificates, or qualifications as required by NY State.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly, one-on-one, with the child in their natural, home environment.
  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) to help students improve communication, focus, and adaptive behaviors.
  • Engage in rapport building and find creative solutions to help students communicate their needs, wants, and feelings.
  • Measure, assess, and document skill acquisition and student progress on the BIP.
  • Conduct goal-oriented, in-home, direct service work with students using ABA approaches such as discrete trial teaching, prompting, modeling, redirection, reinforcements, and reward systems.
  • Provide thorough and comprehensive session-to-session documentation, data analysis, and billing.
  • Actively engage with clinical direction and professional feedback from BCBA supervisor(s).
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, caregivers, supervisors, and coworkers.
