About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Uniformed Security Officer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people worldwide. This role involves monitoring and interpreting technical tools to detect threats, managing incidents and emergency situations, evaluating global geopolitical issues, and conducting monitoring of open-source intelligence, social media, and the darkweb for potential threats. The role also includes providing customer service, performing patrols, completing reports, and potentially providing escorts. A company vehicle is provided, requiring a review of motor vehicle history.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Two (2) years of experience in a security-related role in a private, public or military environment
Current, valid Driver’s License.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities

Monitor, operate, interpret, and interact with multiple technical tools to detect threats and risks to 3M’s personnel, assets, and reputation globally.
Manage incidents and emergency situations, including the execution of procedures, coordination of resources, and on-scene response.
Monitor and evaluate global geopolitical issues that could affect business operations or the security of personnel and assets, including terrorism, violent crime, natural disasters, travel issues, criminal trends, civil unrest, and workplace violence.
Assist in maintaining, populating, and evaluating intelligence databases and sources.
Conduct regular monitoring of online open source intelligence, social media platforms, the darkweb, and vendor tools for known and potential threats to 3M locations, employees, travelers, or assets and emerging incidents.
Provide professional and effective customer service to global internal and external customers.
Perform campus and building security patrols.
Complete incident and activity reports in a clear and concise manner.
Complete training for basic First Aid/CPR and AED.
Provide escorts to employees and visitors, as necessary.
Carry out all job duties and responsibilities in compliance with corporate policies and departmental procedures and standards.
Perform other related duties, as required.
Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.
