About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Unified Communications Engineer to join their dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team in Arlington, VA. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational health, availability, and security of enterprise voice and collaboration systems within a complex network architecture. This role involves providing engineering support for the design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis of various security and communication systems. The engineer will also be responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation, ensuring compliance with DoD Information Assurance requirements, and collaborating with various teams and vendors to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

An active/current Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 12 years of related experience or a commensurate combination of education, training and experience is required.
An active CCNP-Collaboration certification.
Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations, and gather team consensus to move forward.

Nice To Haves

Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Experience with the ITIL library in support of incident and change management.
Experience with a maintenance ticketing system to manage incidents and problems.
Knowledge of Solarwinds, Splunk, and Variphy monitoring systems.
Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer.

Responsibilities

Ensure the operational health, availability, and security of enterprise voice and collaboration systems within a complex network architecture.
Provide engineering support for the design, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and analysis of firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), unified communications platforms, and security controls and policies.
Develop and maintain system specifications, architecture designs, integration plans, test plans, and all required technical documentation.
Maintain compliance with DoD Information Assurance (IA) requirements and ensure all service performance indicators are met or exceeded.
Collaborate with agency Network Engineers and Network Operations personnel to support enterprise infrastructure initiatives and modernization efforts.
Coordinate with vendors and premier support providers to ensure timely resolution of escalated technical issues.
Escalate critical incidents to vendor engineering teams and monitor issue resolution through completion.
Work closely with Tier III engineering support teams to resolve enterprise-level communications and networking issues.
