About The Position

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) supports Ohioans and their families through the following programs: Cash and Food Assistance Employment Services and Workforce Development Unemployment Insurance Adult Protective Services Child Support Public service is an honorable way to serve the community in a hands-on dedicated way. You can make a difference in someone’s world! This position supervises an Unemployment Adjudication Center including managing supervisors and staff. You have to manage specific metrics and provide timely coaching and feedback. Oversee the entire operations of the Adjudication Center. Provide constructive daily leadership, feedback and encouragement to team members. Be a subject matter expert and trainer on day-to-day responsibilities. Work with executive leadership in developing, implementing and managing policy and procedural improvements. Manage, create and improve practices to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. Build team morale and collaboration across teams and other centers. Manage individual and team performance metrics and analyze root causes to understand trends. Create and maintain a positive and uplifting culture within the office. Represent the agency in public speaking engagements. Assist UI Senior Manager with budget and issues/problems of the Adjudication Center.

Requirements

  • Option 1 : 12 months experience as and Unemployment Insurance Supervisor OR Option 2: 36 months experience or training in government laws, rules, regulations, &/or procedures governing unemployment insurance. AND 12 months experience in supervisory principles/techniques OR Option 3: Completion of undergraduate core program in public or business administration. AND 12 months training or experience in government laws, rules, regulations, &/or procedures governing unemployment insurance AND 12 months experience in supervisory principles/techniques OR Option 4: Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with federal or state employment programs, especially unemployment benefits.
  • Call center experience (preferred).
  • Ability to lead change management in customer and employee behavior.
  • Ability to handle many priorities and remain calm in a fast-paced environment is essential.
