About The Position

An Underwriting Tech plays a vital support role in ensuring service excellence by applying a thorough understanding of systems, workflows, and the manual rules and guidelines established by West Bend. This position is responsible for clearing accounts for new customers and processing non-complex policy changes with a strong emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and customer focus. This position offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location will work a hybrid schedule for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events. The position can be based in West Bend or Madison.

Requirements

1-2 years of insurance related experience
Knowledge of personal computers
Organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Basic written and verbal communication skills
Basic math and data entry skills
Ability to work in fast paced environment

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of Associate in General Insurance Designation

Responsibilities

Interpret and apply underwriting guidelines and procedures to support service level standards.
Review and clear accounts for new customers and process policy change requests that do not require underwriting decisions.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate policy service.
Maintain a strong customer service orientation in all tasks and communications.
Adapt to and support ongoing changes in technology, systems, and workflows.
