About The Position

Zurich North America is seeking to expand its Middle Market operation by adding dedicated leaders and underwriters who deeply understand the unique challenges of various industry segments and customers. This role, based in Denver, CO (Greenwood Village), offers a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week in the office/market. The position focuses on serving as a customer advocate, improving customer experience by understanding unique risks, and offering end-to-end Property & Casualty insurance solutions. The role involves developing and maintaining relationships with broker partners and customers, leveraging underwriting acumen for risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to manage a profitable book of business. Collaboration with various business units such as claims, finance, risk engineering, actuarial, and technical underwriting is expected, along with gaining extensive knowledge in a growing industry. The role empowers individuals to use their technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to grow relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory. The position will be filled at either the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, determined by the selected applicant's experience and skill set.

Requirements

Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business Experience with Microsoft Office
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support are AND Knowledge of Microsoft Office Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business Experience working in a team environment
