This role involves inspecting and reviewing properties, assessing liability exposures, and assisting in special projects to determine the Company’s approach to new risks and exposures. The Field Underwriter will facilitate direct contact with insureds and the agency force, explaining the Company's philosophy on individual risks, and completing inspection reports in a timely manner. They will also make presentations to the agency force. Other responsibilities include making decisions on binding or rejecting accounts, accepting or rejecting accounts with unusual exposures, and directing the Company's approach to new types of operations. The role requires staying current with changes in the Company, industry, and regulatory environment, and maintaining a good working relationship between the home office and field force. A P&C Agent License is required and must be maintained. The employee must be able to organize and prioritize work, possess knowledge of office administration procedures, operate standard office equipment, pay attention to detail, be self-motivated with initiative, make decisions, accept responsibility, and be flexible to respond to unexpected situations. A high level of confidentiality is expected.
