About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Underwriting Assistant to support our in-house underwriting team within our National Dealership Program. This role is responsible for providing administrative, operational, and underwriting support to ensure efficient processing of new business, renewals, endorsements, and broker/dealership partner inquiries. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting underwriting operations, maintaining accurate policy documentation, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and delivering exceptional service to dealership partners, brokers, and internal teams across Canada. This position is ideal for an organized insurance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to build a long-term career in underwriting.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of insurance industry experience, preferably in underwriting support, policy administration, broker operations, or commercial/personal lines.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and insurance broker management/underwriting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting dealership, automotive, fleet, or affinity programs is considered an asset.
  • RIBO license or progress toward insurance designation (CAIB, CIP, FCIP) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support underwriters with new business submissions, renewals, endorsements, and policy changes for the National Dealership Program.
  • Review submissions for completeness, obtain outstanding documentation, and maintain accurate underwriting files and policy records.
  • Prepare policy documentation, certificates, binders, endorsements, and related underwriting correspondence.
  • Assist with quoting, rating, policy issuance, and file preparation in accordance with underwriting guidelines and service standards.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and policy setup for new dealership locations and program participants.
  • Respond to broker, dealership partner, and internal inquiries regarding policy status, documentation, and underwriting requirements.
  • Liaise with underwriting, claims, finance, and operations teams to support efficient service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Support reporting, workflow management, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
