About The Position

The Underwriting Assistant supports the Underwriting Team by issuing and sending policies and following up with agents regarding documentation requirements. The position also handles incoming calls, distributes faxes, answers the front door, and orders loss runs for policy files. SPG Wholesale LLC is a property and casualty insurance wholesaler and managing general agency serving retail agencies nationwide, with a focus on small to mid-market excess and surplus commercial and specialty personal lines risks.

Requirements

• Highest level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Positive attitude and enjoyment of helping others through frequent phone and email communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of adaptability to meet the needs of various situations.

Responsibilities

• Issue and deliver contract binding policies and certain brokerage policies.
• Follow up with agents on documentation requirements.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Distribute faxes.
• Answer the front door.
• Order loss runs for policy files.
