About The Position

Performs tasks associated with anticipating key business, marketplace and competitor dynamics in developing and implementing strategies to optimize business results which include retention and growth targets while mitigating risk for large and jumbo groups. Primary focus is on establishing the appropriate rate and conditions of offering to achieve revenue, membership and margin goals. Additionally, policies and procedures are managed to support optimal customer service while collaborating with Sales/Account Management partners to optimize business opportunities and effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in business administration, health care administration, mathematics, statistics or related field (Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma).
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Knowledge of personal computer related software applications including advanced features of excel and/or other financial analysis modeling software.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, read, and develops algebraic rating formulas.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance conflicting deadlines and meet established departmental turnaround goals.
  • Understanding of benefits, Sutter Health plan rating principles and methodologies, group enrollment guidelines, legal restrictions on reporting and rating and an understanding of how healthcare products are marketed and delivered to customers.
  • Knowledge of the market environment for health care in California, primarily in the Sutter health plan offered service area regions.
