About The Position

Slide Insurance is seeking an Underwriter to join their innovative and fun-driven team. In this role, you will review inspections, process changes, cancellations, and non-renewals. You will analyze new and existing personal lines business to evaluate risk and potential exposure, obtain and analyze applicant information to determine coverage needs, and evaluate the level of risk for insuring each property. You will also provide recommendations for application approval, assist agents with premium cost determination, and evaluate insurance claims for accuracy and appropriate coverage amounts. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Property & Casualty Homeowner's insurance industry.
2+ years underwriting experience.
In-depth understanding of insurance coverage and policy writing.
Proficiency in technical underwriting and associated skills.
Ability to make complex decisions using critical thinking in the assessment and management of risk according to established guidelines and authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact on a professional level.
Ability and desire to deliver exceptional customer service.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
Project management and organization skills.
Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Insurance, Finance, Economics, Business, or other related area preferred.
