About The Position

The Amwins Underwriter L.A.U.N.C.H Program is an intensive three-month training program designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of the insurance industry, underwriting practices, and the Amwins organization. This program aims to develop professional skills and offer networking opportunities across various facets of the company. Upon completion of the training in Charlotte, NC, participants will relocate to Portsmouth, NH, to work with Amwins Program Underwriters in an entry-level underwriting support role. Duties will include supporting lead underwriters by gathering account information for rating, quoting, and binding policies, maintaining account documentation, communicating with clients and internal departments, monitoring reports, and providing administrative support. Travel for additional training is expected two to three times a year for the next few years.

Requirements

• RMI degree preferred early in career (less than 2 years of experience)

Responsibilities

• Support lead underwriter by gathering account information to rate, quote and bind policies
• Maintain and manage account documentation and files
• Communicates with clients and internal departments to gather information, provide updates, and resolve issues and inquiries
• Rate new or renewal quotes as directed by underwriter
• Monitor various reports for consistency
• Provide administrative support and other related services as needed (e.g., input account information into the system)
• Travel as needed
