Underwrite residential real estate loans for the Secondary Market Lending Division. Underwrite and evaluate residential mortgage loan applications to provide qualify loans for Stockman Bank and its secondary market investors. Responsible for the credit risk on all loans. Underwriter is responsible for the review and evaluation of loan files and will make decisions on files consistent with Stockman Bank’s lending policies and all appropriate program guidelines. Assist Real Estate Loan Specialists in efficiently processing real estate loans originated by all branch offices. Underwriter must maintain a strong knowledge of real estate loan policies, procedures and investor programs while continuing to develop strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication and analytical skills. The residential real estate function includes, but is not limited to: maintaining the necessary underwriting knowledge to effectively review and underwrite loans based on FNMA/Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, RD and secondary market guidelines; providing processing support and backup to Real Estate Loan Specialists; assisting in effectively communicating underwriting issues, policies and procedures with lenders and branch managers; and real estate sale and funding, including determination of appropriate markets, understanding pricing, lock in, purchasing, commitments and delivery to secondary markets.
