About The Position

Our Specialty Risk Underwriters work closely with our Brokers to customize Professional Liability solutions for their clients. They solve highly complex and unique portfolios in accordance with established guidelines. They work hard to ensure that we are writing the right risks – this means liaising with other Underwriters, Corporate Underwriting, as well as our Actuarial Pricing teams. The Underwriter services commercial business for the purpose of maintaining national standards in underwriting quality which means carefully analyzing the risk selection, data quality, pricing adequacy and service standards. They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our Broker partners and love utilizing their strong technical skills to ensure that risks are assessed properly. They also pay attention to the smallest of details, ensuring that all pieces of business are written in the best way possible.

Requirements

  • Professional Liability Underwriting experience
  • Underwriting E+O, D+O, and Cyber lines
  • Relationship building and communication skills
  • 1-5 years of Underwriting experience
  • Completed, or pursuing your CIP, FCIP, or RPLU designations
  • Strong customer service background
  • Team-first mentality

  • Service commercial business to maintain national standards in underwriting quality.
  • Analyze risk selection, data quality, pricing adequacy, and service standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Broker partners.
  • Assess risks properly utilizing strong technical skills.
  • Ensure all pieces of business are written in the best way possible by paying attention to details.
