About The Position

The Underwriting Analyst is an entry-level role responsible for supporting all aspects of the Private Bank’s credit underwriting process. Analysts focus on data gathering, preliminary financial analysis, exposure tracking, and documentation support. The position is designed to build foundational credit skills and provide exposure to a wide range of wealth-driven lending solutions. This is an ideal role for early-career talent seeking development in financial analysis and credit risk within a sophisticated private banking environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in finance, credit analysis, accounting, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel and financial statement review.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn credit fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and organize financial statements, tax returns, liquidity reports, and collateral documents.
  • Prepare initial financial spreads, liquidity analyses, and exposure summaries.
  • Assist with marketable securities analysis, LTV calculations, and collateral coverage reviews.
  • Support Analysts and Underwriters with initial drafting of memo components and client summaries.
  • Maintain credit files, internal databases, exposure systems, and workflow trackers.
  • Support the documentation and closing process by coordinating with Legal, Compliance, and Operations.
  • Perform data integrity checks and prepare materials for credit meetings and committee packages.
  • Ensure that required documentation is collected and maintained in accordance with policy.
  • Support periodic monitoring activities, including annual reviews, covenant checks, and collateral revaluations.
  • Assist in identifying discrepancies or red flags in client information and escalate appropriately.
  • Work closely with Associates, Underwriters, Bankers, and Risk to ensure timely, accurate execution.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and underwriting discussions.
