About The Position

EDAG is seeking an Underhood Trim Design & Release Engineer to develop and release underhood trim components, including leaf screens, cowl screens, and related parts. The role involves maturing component concepts into production-intent designs and released product definitions, and defining packaging, interfaces, attachment strategies, materials, and performance requirements. The engineer will coordinate supplier and tooling activities, plan and coordinate testing and validation, manage DFMEAs and risk mitigation, and resolve issues related to water management, debris protection, fit, sealing, noise, vibration, and environmental exposure. The role also supports prototype and production builds, engineering changes, manufacturing readiness, and launch. The position is a six-month contract located in Dearborn, Michigan, or Long Beach, California.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience with automotive underhood components, particularly leaf screens, cowl screens, or related parts.
  • Experience from design concept and maturation through tooling, testing, verification, and launch.
  • Working knowledge of 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) and DFMEA.
  • English proficiency at C1-C2 level.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of underhood environmental conditions, including heat, water, debris, chemicals, vibration, and aging.
  • Knowledge of plastics and other applicable materials, molding processes, sealing, drainage, and retention strategies.
  • Familiarity with cowl, windshield, hood, wiper, HVAC, and body interfaces.
  • Experience with water-management testing, durability validation, noise concerns, and serviceability.
  • Experience with tooling reviews, part inspection, and production corrective action.
