About The Position

EDM International, Inc. is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Underground Transmission Line Inspector/Observer to ensure the highest quality and safety standards in the construction of major underground utility projects. This role is field-based in Downtown Denver, CO, and is ideal for someone who thrives outdoors, enjoys collaborating with contractors and engineers, and takes pride in precision.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, or substation line work.
• Strong knowledge of construction principles, specifications, and OSHA regulations (especially trenching/shoring).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and safely operate a vehicle for field inspections.

Nice To Haves

• Prior underground utility construction and inspection experience — especially in urban settings.
• Experience with Procore, ArcGIS, or Field Maps.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field construction for underground transmission line projects.
• Conduct inspections to verify all work meets drawings, specifications, and project standards.
• Create accurate, detailed daily inspection reports.
• Collaborate closely with contractors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Observe and document field tests, such as concrete and soil testing.
• Maintain contract documents, permits, and updated “as-built” drawings.
• Participate in construction meetings and coordinate with local officials, right-of-way agents, and permitting authorities.
• Uphold and promote a safety-first culture, taking corrective action when needed.
