About The Position

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the office and two days remote. The position will allow you to apply and expand your knowledge of underground transmission line engineering, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles. You will design underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV, support project teams with cost analyses, design criteria, routing, siting, and manhole placement. Responsibilities include supporting the development of physical designs such as duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, and drawing packages. You will also support cable selection studies, determine bonding schemes, perform ampacity calculations, develop riser structure configurations and structural loading, and develop specifications for cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation, and general construction. Coordination with other engineers, designers, and drafters is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

  • BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Experience with cable tensioning calculations and/or software.
  • 2 or more years of experience on underground transmission projects.
  • Experience with XLPE cable design.
  • Preparation of specifications for installation and procurement of underground transmission line materials and components.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
