Position Summary: The Underground Terminating Foreman oversees the UG Terminating Crew working on the job site, ensuring all work is compliant with installation and safety standards. They are responsible for managing the field operations with a focus on safety compliance, efficiency, cost management and innovation. Additionally, they manage construction activities to ensure company procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of Distribution or Transmission Line Experience, Excavator Operation, Bucket Truck/ Line Truck.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to perform and practice aerial bucket rescue.
  • Must be able to perform and practice pole top rescue.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Experience managing large projects with 5 or more employees on a crew
  • Must know the direction of line feed and be able to switch circuits in emergencies.
  • Must be able to travel

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing required paperwork daily including daily timesheets, daily production reports, and customer pay sheets.
  • Terminating underground elbows (200 amp and 600 amp), installing insert bushings, installing lightning arrestors, terminating underground dip terminators on pole, etc.
  • Perform work on de-energized or energized lines.
  • Rigs block and tackle for lifting of heavy objects, lifts heavy objects with material handling bucket trucks according to equipment capacities and manufacturer instructions.
  • Use and maintain all tools and equipment according to industry standards and manufacturer instructions.
  • Install and remove lighting arrestors, , sectionalizers, and other types of special equipment.
  • Work with hotline tools, as is necessary for the project requirements.
  • Terminate connections transformers. Installing grounds, secondary blocks elbows and primary splices in transformers.
  • Assist in connecting 3-phase transformer banks.
  • Operate tractors, trucks, forklifts and other equipment with proper training, licenses, and experience.
  • Perform all duties of all job classifications on a lower level than their own as required.
