About The Position

Northern Star Resources is seeking an Underground Miner - Shotcrete Crew for their Pogo operation in Alaska. This role involves operating underground equipment, performing various mining tasks, and contributing to a successful and productive team in a rotational camp schedule. Requirements

• Experience in underground Shotcrete Operations
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Good communication skills, including ability to read and speak English
• Basic computer literacy
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
• Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements
• Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check

• Ability to provide leadership and training to new team members

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate underground equipment and perform various mining tasks.
• Operate Shotcrete equipment.
• Minimize equipment down-time and maximize productivity.
• Perform general laboring as required.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the work area.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are serviceable and safe.
• Communicate clearly and effectively on two-way radio.
• Undertake all safety-related activities in accordance with Company policy and MSHA requirements, including Hazard IDs, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting.
• Assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance.
• Assess and monitor ground conditions.
• Conduct scaling in accordance with site requirements.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
• Other duties may include Haul Truck, Nipper, Mucking, Powder Crew & Rockpick.
