About The Position

Northern Star Resources is seeking an Underground Miner - Grader Operator for their Pogo operation in Alaska. This role involves safely and efficiently operating Graders and performing various underground mining tasks. The position is permanent and offers job security with an extended mine-life. Requirements

• 2 years Experience in operating Graders in an Underground Environment
• Experience operating a Loader in an Underground environment
• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Good communication skills, including ability to read and speak English
• Basic computer literacy
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
• Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements
• Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check

Responsibilities

• Operate Graders in an underground setting
• Work as directed to minimize equipment down-time and maximize productivity
• Perform general laboring as required
• Maintain general housekeeping of the work area
• Ensure all tools and equipment are serviceable and safe
• Communicate clearly and effectively on two-way radio
• Undertake all safety-related activities in accordance with Company policy and MSHA requirements, including Hazard IDs, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting
• Assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance
• Assess and monitor ground conditions
• Conduct scaling in accordance with site requirements
• Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor
• Other duties may include Haul Truck, Nipper, Mucking, Powder Crew & Rockpick
