About The Position
As an Underground Laborer, you’ll support underground plumbing installations, repairs, excavation, and replacement projects while working alongside experienced Lead Installers. This is hands-on, physical work for someone who doesn’t mind getting dirty, working outdoors, and putting in the effort to build a career in the trades.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for insurance purposes.
- Ability to work full-time in the field.
- Ability and willingness to follow direction and learn new skills.
- Ability to safely use or learn to use hand and power tools.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of general labor, construction, plumbing, excavation, or related experience.
- Experience working outdoors or on residential construction projects.
- Experience with hand digging, trenching, or underground work.
Responsibilities
- Support the Installation Team
- Assist with underground plumbing installations, repairs, and replacement projects.
- Repair or replace pipes and plumbing components as directed.
- Dig trenches by hand when needed.
- Assist with excavation, site preparation, and material handling.
- Prepare tools, equipment, materials, and jobsites.
- Help identify plumbing issues and potential leaks.
- Follow direction from Lead Installers and experienced team members.
- Complete assigned work safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Build Your Trade Skills
- Gain hands-on experience with: Underground plumbing systems and piping, Pipe installation, repair, and replacement, Excavation and trenching, Hand and power tools, Jobsite preparation and cleanup, Basic measurements and material calculations, Installation techniques and safety practices, Applicable plumbing requirements and standards.
- Take Care of the Customer
- Communicate professionally with homeowners.
- Answer basic customer questions or direct technical questions to the Lead Installer.
- Respect customer property, landscaping, and homes.
- Keep jobsites clean and organized.
- Represent Hunt’s professionally on every job.
