Requirements

  • 4+ years of telecom construction experience, including 1+ year leading a crew, with well-rounded UGE/fiber experience across drop and mainline work; aerial experience is a plus.
  • Skilled in construction, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and reading blueprints, RFDS, site plans, and SOWs.
  • Experience operating mini excavators, drop plows, heavy equipment, and bucket trucks; directional drilling experience is a plus.
  • OSHA 10 required.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs., work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card for driving purposes; CDL preferred.
  • Open to travel nationwide 7 days a week, per diem, 4-5 weeks on, and 5 days off on a rotating schedule (50+ hours per week, depending on the weather), and working overtime consistently.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerial experience is a plus.
  • Directional drilling experience is a plus.
  • OSHA 20/30 and excavator training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside underground construction crews in the field on large-scale, long-haul telecom projects nationwide.
  • Oversee daily operations, productivity, quality, and safety while ensuring work is completed efficiently and to customer specifications.
  • Lead, mentor, and work alongside underground construction crews in the field.
  • Prioritize safety by conducting daily safety meetings and enforcing company and industry standards.
  • Oversee mainline and FTTH construction projects, including fiber counts from 4-864.
  • Operate and oversee backhoes, dozers, cable plows, trenchers, air compressors, reel trailers, and other construction equipment.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and coordinate solutions with leadership and customers.
  • Complete daily paperwork, timesheets, job instructions, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate site activities and maintain customer relationships.
  • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and tools are maintained and operational.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
