About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting for an Underground Construction Miner, Sump to join their operations team. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient completion of underground construction activities, supporting mine development and infrastructure through hands-on construction work, inspections, and mentorship within the crew. Requirements

Minimum 2 years of underground construction experience in mining operations.
Ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with computers and operating documentation.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings (civil, structural, excavation).
High attention to detail and strong quality standards.
Good communication skills with demonstrated leadership potential.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating a scoop (8 yd.) is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Perform scaling and complete pre-operation inspections of work areas.
Install ground support using handheld equipment when required.
Install fans and ventilation ducting.
Install and maintain mine services including air, water, and pumping systems.
Ensure work is completed according to engineering prints and established standards.
Complete 5-point safety cards and maintain accurate operating records, including daily work reports.
Inspect work during and after completion to ensure quality and compliance.
Participate in site inspections and QA/QC activities to support construction standards.
Contribute to positive and effective workplace relationships.
Provide end-of-shift status updates to supervisors and crew members.
Mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced crew members.
Support the Construction Supervisor with inspections and methodology development.
