About The Position

Works in close collaboration with faculty and laboratory staff to perform basic science laboratory research to contribute to the research goals of the laboratory. The applicant will perform experiments to determine the effect of pathogenic PUM1 mutations on the NORAD-Pumilio pathway. Under the daily mentorship of an Assistant Professor, the trainee will be familiarized with project-related published literature and trained extensively on experimental techniques, data analysis, and documentation tools.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age
  • May be required to have specific field of study or education according to assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science area such as biology, chemistry, physics, or other related scientific field.
  • Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures, discussing results with supervisor.
  • Assists in collection of data for project reports.
  • Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning implementation of new procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
