About The Position

A research position is available for Summer 2026 in Dr. Amirfakhri’s research group, with the possibility of renewal as a part-time position during the Fall and Spring semesters of 2026–2027. This position provides valuable hands-on research experience for students interested in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, water treatment, and laboratory research. Students may also have opportunities to present research findings at scientific conferences during the academic year.

Requirements

  • Students will participate in laboratory research related to PFAS treatment and destruction technologies.
  • Research on destructive methods for PFAS removal
  • Catalyst synthesis and characterization
  • PFAS removal and treatment experiments
  • Setting up and operating a continuous filtration system
  • Assisting with the assembly and operation of a tubular furnace
  • Data analysis and laboratory documentation
  • Assisting with the preparation of scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
