About The Position

Teach undergraduate nursing courses in the classroom and clinical settings, acute or ambulatory, transitional care, skills lab, simulation, and/or community practicum settings. The incumbent would be expected to teach courses and clinical/practicum that would include but are not limited to acute and chronic care across the lifespan Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs. Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field. Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities. Contribute to student growth and development including student advising. Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community. Requirements

  • A graduate degree in nursing from a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program or an international equivalent. Note: For international applicants all qualifications will need to be verified by a United States accrediting body e.g., Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS International, Inc.)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse with current registration or eligible for licensure in MN and WI.
  • Must meet background study requirements according to Minnesota statutes.
  • A minimum of 3 years nursing experience in one or more care settings, e.g., inpatient, ambulatory, transitional care, and/or community settings.
  • Ability to meet Minnesota State and clinical partner agency requirements, including Health Care Provider CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations, including influenza
  • Ability to push, pull and lift 25 pounds; move up to 50 pounds of weight; use upper/lower body strength; or have a reasonable accommodation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching is required.

  • Nursing experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas: Medical-surgical nursing experience Community health/population health nursing experience Experience within ambulatory/primary care/outpatient nursing care settings Pediatric/adolescent/family care in nursing experience Maternal/child/family health nursing experience Mental health in nursing experience Experience within nursing leadership Research in nursing experience
