About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is recruiting undergraduate college students for its 2027 summer intern cohort. Interns are matched with a department where they can apply their skills and experience to support team goals and the organization’s mission. The internship also includes cohort workshops, professional networking opportunities, and exposure to a variety of careers. This 12-week internship runs from May 24, 2027, to August 13, 2027. Interns work 40 hours per week, earn $23.00 per hour, and are required to maintain a regular on-site presence. Applications open November 1, 2026, and close January 3, 2027, at midnight. Individuals who need immigration sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible. Some positions require U.S. citizenship. The employer does not provide relocation assistance, housing, or travel reimbursement.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree; applicants must be enrolled when applying but do not necessarily need to remain enrolled during the internship.
Open to students graduating December 2026 or later.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with standard office software, such as Microsoft Office, and willingness to learn new tools.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the organization’s core values: Service, Integrity, Inclusion, Initiative, Accountability, and Objectivity.

Responsibilities

Research options to guide financial education efforts.
Process and clean datasets.
Support survey and engagement research, including work involving Native Nations.
Conduct SIPP wealth and debt data analysis.
Create communications materials and newsletters.
Assist with housing affordability research and quantitative data projects.
